We've got a WW2 air raid shelter in our back garden, under our rockery. Next door have recently excavated their entrance to it (it was shared by both houses) and today we went in it. It was pretty scary getting into it, as it's a small entrance with lots of rubble and we had to drop down into it. I'm trying to track down its history, as there are rumours it might have been used by the Secret Army, or maybe the owners of the two houses were just really rich. There apparently used to be a wall in the middle with a door, a side for each house, and it looks like there was electricity running to it.
